FlowT & Grand Baggy Rope Bags
for serious
canyoneering—light, fast-draining, and tough enough for years of abuse in tight
slots and big drops.
FlowT (medium and small) can be outfitted with an
optional foam insert (sold separately) for floatation. Not everyone wants floatation, so the foam
inserts are sold separately. If you want
Floatation, be sure to add the foam insert to your shopping list.
Grand Baggy (large) is built with minimal drainage, no
flotation option, and a shape tailored to fully fit Hyperlite packs, making it
the go-to choice for Grand Canyon canyoneers who prioritize pack compatibility,
ultra-light and streamlined design.
- Ultra
400 Fabric: Made from 70% UHMWPE and 30% polyester with a PET
laminate, it’s more than 4x as abrasion-resistant as 1000D Cordura (ASTM
D3884), yet about half the weight (158gsm vs 312gsm). It doesn't absorb
water, so your bag stays light even when wet.
- Tough
Mesh Drainage: The same high-performance mesh used in the Smooth
Sac—carefully tested and chosen for durability and fast drainage that outperforms
bags with grommets or punched holes.
- Field-Proven:
Two years of testing in tight slots, big rappels, and tosses off cliffs.
Even Death Valley’s dreaded rock nettle (the infamous Velcro Plant) does
not stick to the fabric.
- Optional Foam Insert (FlowT only): Add flotation when you need it
- no zippers,
snaps, or Velcro to fail. Just flip the bag inside out, slide in the foam,
and flip it back.
- Foam sold separately.
- Reflective
Ribbon: Easily spot your bag with a headlamp in the dark.
- Speed
Bead: Open the bag quickly, even with cold or gloved hands—no cardlock
pinching required.
- Removable
Shoulder Strap: Comfortable carry without dangling tail.
- removable for
gram counters.
- Top
Handle: Easy to carry, clip in, and cinch closed while hanging from
your harness.
- Tie-In
Options: Use the internal top loop to tie in the bottom end of the
rope, or the lower loop with pass-through hole for tying inside or outside
the bag.
- Hybrid
Shape: Round top for easy stuffing; envelope-shaped bottom resists
rolling and fits neatly in your pack.
Bonus: Each bag ships with a spare cardlock—just in
case a cliff toss takes one out.
Pricing: Yep, they’re pricey. Ultra 400 costs up to
4× more than Cordura, and skilled labor isn’t cheap.
All bag sizes are priced equally—turns out
they take the same effort to make and nearly the same amount of fabric once we
cut around the scraps.
